Let's Talk: Black & White

A lot of people in our day in age enjoy gaming, and everyone has their own preference of what type of gaming they like of course. An all-time favorite which I think everyone can agree on is Fortnite. Fortnite has swept the nation off its feet and has fans all over the world. But for black people, in particular, I have seen a lot of guys play NBA2K, Madden, Call of Duty, or Grand Theft Auto (GTA), just to name a few.  via GIPHY Boys, in particular, have been known to be the ultimate game-players; and for some reason, they believe they can multitask while playing "the game". You could be talking to a boy while he's playing the game and he'll reply to everything your saying but won't retain a word. Or sometimes who get those that when their talking, in the middle of their sentence they will pause and go into a black stare with the game looking just like this 😮. Then when you try to end the conversation they beg you to stay and talk to them.... but they never ...

The best thing about video games is not winning them, but being able to see grown men have a mental breakdown because they lost. 🤣 The internet has provided us with plenty of videos of white men/boys freaking out over a video game and loosing their sh#t. via GIPHY Here is an example of how a white boy acts when he looses a video game: No one knows why white boys get so upset over a video game, but we can all agree that: Its annoying  Its sad to watch  Its not that serious 

Music for white people can include genres such as country, alternative, classical, EDM, pop, and rap. Depending on the person their taste in music will vary. Still to this day, our music has been able to speak volumes while having a good beat to rock to. Now there is a common misconception that ' Black people only listen to Rap, Hip Hop, and R&B'  when that is definitely not true. Our music palette is much more diverse than what people think. Some genres that most African Americans enjoy listening to are: Blues Jazz Gospel Hip Hop R&B  Pop Rap/Trap Music Now the type of genres a person likes to listen to can also depend on their age group as well. For example, my parents don't like listening to a lot of Rap and Hip Hop. They are more of Jazz, Blues, and Gospel lovers. Greek Life at colleges and universities is a very popular extra curricular activity for students to take part in. Depending on the school, there are many Greek Life groups which students can choose from that fit their opinions and outlook on issues. Joining a fraternity or a sorority allows for students to meet new people and stay involved in the school and community. Since the start of sports in America only white athletes were allowed to participate in sports such as football, baseball, basketball, soccer, field hockey, softball etc. Around the 1950's that all changed when Jackie Robinson became the first black man to enter the baseball field and help make a path for black athletes all over the world to enter white dominated sports.  In present day sports both basketball and football are dominated by black athletes. They fill 80% of the NBA roster and 67% of the NFL roster. It's not that white athletes in these sports aren't good, but they aren't trying out for the sport in high school or college where they will get noticed by scouts.  via GIPHY In one survey taken at a high school 40% of the black students played basketball while only 15% are white.
