Black Greek Life
Black Greeks
One of the many exciting things about college and campus life is Greek life. Depending on the type of school you go to, you could have organizations from the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC). The National Pan-Hellenic Council is a group of nine historically black Greek organizations consisting of five fraternities and four sororities, also known as "The Divine Nine" or "D9".The organizations include:

A common misconception about Greek life is that it is all about strolling, stepping, and dancing. Not at all. These organizations base themselves upon community service, brotherhood/sisterhood, and scholarship.
Deciding to join a sorority or a fraternity is based on personal preference. You have to think about how joining an organization will benefit you and how will an organization benefit from you. Like anything else, always do your research before deciding on your perfect match.
