Throughout history, African Americans have repeatedly been in situations where they have to prove themselves worthy or capable of performing certain actions. A wise man once told me, "In life, you will always have to work harder than the next person just because you're black". From The Beginning Ever since back in a day, Blacks were only looked at as being useful for sports; basketball and football specifically. So we took that and ran with it. Growing Up White

Growing up in a white household verses a black household has its similarities, but also its differences. One similarity we've all experienced is asking our parent to go to McDonald's and them saying, "no we got food at home." via GIPHY Talking Back A big difference between black and white households is talking back to your parents. I have had white friends who talk back to their parents and the parents ignore it. Also when responding to parents is different. When my parents ask me to come to them I respond "what" and they tell me what they want. When my black friends dad said my name and I responded "what" he looked at me like I was crazy. via GIPHY Discipline Another difference is discipline. My parents would make us sit on the steps for a few hours if we misbehaved. Some other white parents might take away TV or other electronics from their kids or just sternly talk to them.

White Greek Life

Greek Life at colleges and universities is a very popular extra curricular activity for students to take part in. Depending on the school, there are many Greek Life groups which students can choose from that fit their opinions and outlook on issues. Joining a fraternity or a sorority allows for students to meet new people and stay involved in the school and community. National Panhellenic Conference The National Panhellic Conference is an organization that oversees 26 sororities. The NPC advises the sororities so that they can lead an experience that is positive for the members and helps them learn and grow together. The NPC has been overseeing sororities for 115 year on 670+ campuses.
